This policy explains what information ClipAgent collects when you use the macOS app, the website and web app at clip-agent.com, and the ClipAgent API and MCP server (together, the "Service"), how we use it, and the choices you have. We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
Your account. Your email address, your name if you give it, and your password, which is stored only as a secure hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google, and use them only to create and run your account.
Your content. The videos, links, website addresses, brand details and instructions you give us, and what the Service makes from them: transcripts, clips, captions, images, videos and posts.
Connected social accounts. When you connect TikTok, Instagram, YouTube or another platform, the connection is handled by our publishing provider. We store the account's name or handle, an identifier, and the status of the posts you publish. We never see your social media passwords.
Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your plan, billing status and the email on the payment. We never see or store your full card number.
Usage and device information. Basic technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting. Our website analytics (Vercel Analytics) count page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Messages to us. If you email support, we keep the conversation so we can help you.
To find clips and write posts, we send the parts of your content that a task needs, such as a transcript or the text of a web page, to AI models through OpenRouter, which routes requests to model providers such as Anthropic. Cloud video processing runs on Modal. The macOS app transcribes and processes video on your Mac, and sends transcript text to OpenRouter using your own API key. We don't use your content to train AI models.
We share information only with the providers that run the Service for us, only for that purpose:
When you publish a post, it goes to the platform you chose, and that platform's own privacy policy applies to it. We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect our users and the Service from fraud or abuse. If ClipAgent is ever sold or merged, your information would move with it under this policy.
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
We keep your account and content for as long as your account is open. Temporary copies of videos downloaded for processing are deleted once processing is done. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account and content within 30 days. The only exception is records we must keep by law, such as payment records for tax.
You can disconnect social accounts at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, export or delete your information, or to object to how we use it. To do any of these, email support@clip-agent.com from the address on your account, and we'll reply within 30 days.
We encrypt information in transit, limit who can access it, and keep payment and social account credentials with the providers built to hold them. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you without undue delay if a breach affects it.
Our providers may process your information in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
ClipAgent is for people aged 18 and over, as set out in our Terms of Use. We don't knowingly collect information from children.
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
